God’s Rainbow

What I Learned From Noah's Ark
1. Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.
2. Build on high ground.
3. If you can't fight or flee -- float!
4. Remember the woodpeckers INSIDE are often a bigger threat than the storm outside.
5. "Stop what'ca doing, and do what God says!" (Life lesson to live by HA!)

While driving to worship this past Sunday, two rainbows appeared in the sky. I almost ran off the road gazing at them. The aligned colors reminded me of two unforgettable moments,

            (1) the throne of God (Revelations 4:3), (2) Noah and the Ark (Genesis 6:1-7).   Rebellious people dismissed Noah’s message to heed the great flood.   God destroyed the whole earth with a flood;  eight souls were saved (1Peter 3:20).

Afterwards, God promised never to destroy the earth with water again. As a sign of God’s promise, He set a rainbow in the sky for all generations to see (Gen 9:11-14). The rainbow represents more than the Genesis promise; it allow us to see God’s character. God cannot lie (Titus 1:2), and God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). We treat God as if He is human and not as the Creator. We dictate our wants at God rather than kneel before his grace. Our true job is to trust the Lord. Stop thinking you have all the answers (Proverbs 3:5).

Bottom line: God keeps His promises.

Understanding It Better By and By

Funny how life has a way of showing you what you’re made of.  When adversity hits, what you say you wouldn't do becomes easier to do.  When the rubber meets the road, yes! you do the unthinkable.  Let's say you have a house fire and on the second floor is your baby and mom. You can only save one, which would it be? I've heard many say they would grab the baby since mom has been around a long time. I couldn't say.  I'm not in that situation right now.  There's no way to know what to do until tragedy hits.  Some can handle atrocities, whereas; other have no clue how to maneuver suffering nor know why hardship occurs.  Stop trying to figure out why hardships happens--only the Father knows.  He won't  have you guessing long.      The underlining reason at the end of your trials gives away the mystery. Experiencing hardship isn't fun but you will come out with more insight than ever before....

God's Timeout!

Even in the mist of your trials, God provides prosperity and peace.  In Jeremiah 29, God told His people that after captivity, after their time-out, He would restore them to Jerusalem.  The people’s response was to simply to listen and obey.  Such a simple task, yet, not easily done. Are you a doer of God’s word? Does others see God in your actions? Do you see yourself, your actions, and your thoughts when you read God’s word?   James talks about looking into God’s mirror and walking away forgetting what you look like (James 1:23-24).  Trials are not for you to point the finger at others or to use as a pawn to make idle promises to do better.    Trials designed to bring you closer to God, to embrace His love, mercy, and grace.  Remember raising your children (if you had any) and after you scold them, they ran to you with tears in their eyes and hug you tightly, a silent plea for forgiveness.  When Go...

Heaven's Hotline!

Heaven’s hotline is available day or night.  Never worry about the line going dead, disconnected or even fear an operator saying, “Please hold.” God answers all His calls. How do you get connected? I’m glad you asked. You received your telephone number the day of your new birth. The cost of installation was Jesus’ blood on the Cross. Your name was entered on God's speed dial. There you have it, no number to memorize and no dial tone to achieve; the call connects instantly when you say the code words “o ur Father .”            You don’t have to worry that someone is listening or be concerned with how to phrase your sentences. The receiver knew you before you were formed. ( Jeremiah 1:5 ). In fact, you do not have to explain your reason for calling. God wants you to talk to him.         Did you know that an angel stands before God day and night offering up your prayers as incenses b...
