I Got You!

Do you remember going to the arcades? You and your friends’ old rendezvous spot, battling for the top spot in one of the popular games. While you guys horsed around, a group of troublemakers bullied their way onto the machines? Your posy band together vowing to have each other’s back.  Now days, every man for himself. Someone will call 911 for you, any more than that would be heroic (Romans 5:7).  No one takes on any man’s cause anymore. The back-in-the-day phrase was "I got your back."

Who Am I?

Sometimes I don't know who I am. I know this sounds strange, let me explain. I began a new job April 2016.  I work in a space that is very close-nit, meaning, tight space.  I've always been a child of God.  Those I work with are not. They curse like there's no other suitable words in the dictionary to choose from. I tolerate it and say anything. So who am I? I literally went to the bathroom and looked myself in the mirror and asked that question. I know the scriptures.  But at work, I busily do my job and smile. I never address their fowl mouth.  I had to ask myself, WHO AM I?

Watch Your Step

When you are in and around the city in which you live, you may see a “Watch Your Step” sign in building lobbies, near elevators and stairs, at entryways, on the steps of city buses, and freshly mopped areas. You obey the sign by walking careful around those areas. Your awareness is on high alert not to slip or fall. In fact, you point out its dangers to others—rescuing them from perils through warnings. This sign is in a bright neon yellow.   Its color brings attention to itself. I’ve not heard anyone say, “this sign is bogus or hogwash, nothing will happen to me.”

In The Night

In the night, when you're alone, Satan does his best work.  He plants despair, hurt, and regret in your mind. He corners you with self-pity thoughts when there's no one around. He bully's you into doing what you wouldn't normally do. All his deceptive thoughts cause you to make bad choices. Reflect right now over your life.  Are there times in your life you wish you could erase from time and do over?  Sure!  I wish I could go back. But we have to keep moving forward according to Philippians 3:13 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before." You can't do over what's done but you can learn the lessons and resist the urge to create new regrets. Three things you can do when troubles come on you:
WOW Factor Every now and then you are surprised by unfold events. A baby born, nature's brilliance, your child's words, and new discoveries in medicine. Be prepared to be "Wowed" when you awake every morning. The Wow factor also comes when you read scripture that comes to life. Amazing, God knows how to take your breath away with His word. It's like meeting Him in a banquet hall and you stand before the crowd awaiting Love to burst through the doors.  God's word is: Pure (Prov 30:5) Tried (Psalms 18:34) Right (Psalms 33:4) Makes you happy (Prov 12:25) Good (Prov 15:23) Like gold (Prov 25:11) Speak God's word and watch it move the unseen world in ways that causes an amazing change in your life. Wow!
