Watch Your Step

When you are in and around the city in which you live, you may see a “Watch Your Step” sign in building lobbies, near elevators and stairs, at entryways, on the steps of city buses, and freshly mopped areas. You obey the sign by walking careful around those areas. Your awareness is on high alert not to slip or fall. In fact, you point out its dangers to others—rescuing them from perils through warnings. This sign is in a bright neon yellow.  Its color brings attention to itself. I’ve not heard anyone say, “this sign is bogus or hogwash, nothing will happen to me.”
Well tell me in Pete’s name why we don’t watch our steps in our spiritual lives. And before you say anything, yes, I did say we. I included myself. I’m no stranger to sin. If you understand, watching your step in a carnal sense, why not take seriously the godly call to watch your step in the spiritual?
The spiritually warning sign shouting to us to “…walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians 5: 15-17).  Walk circumspectly means to walk carefully not as someone that doesn’t know God nor His biblical warnings, but as someone who has been washed by the blood of the Lamb and given a second chance. You have escaped more issues through God’s power than you can count. He sent you money for an unpaid bill, your child made it out of prison, gangs, abuse and alcohol. Despite your daughter’s young age, she successful bored her child. Your spouse dumped his mistress and came home.  Sin is the cause of our spiritual decline. The spiritual yellow amber sign is warning our time is winding down. It’s time to live for the one who died for you (2 Corinthians 5:15).  It’s time you watch your step in this life.

You should walk:
·       In the light, as He is in the light (1 John 1:7). Do what’s right when it’s uncomfortable and whether or not others are watching.

·       In the light lest darkness come upon you (John 11:10). God is protecting you with grace and mercy, right now, but there will come a time, mercy and grace will fade away. God will impose sentencing.

·       Righteously because in that day (Day of Judgment), ever knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess to God (Romans 14:11). Know this warning sign, what person ought you be today.

·       Not after the flesh but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1). For a carnal mind is hatred and death, while spirituality yields a full life of peace.

Remember, you could slide into Hell-- watch your step.

Understanding It Better By and By

Funny how life has a way of showing you what you’re made of.  When adversity hits, what you say you wouldn't do becomes easier to do.  When the rubber meets the road, yes! you do the unthinkable.  Let's say you have a house fire and on the second floor is your baby and mom. You can only save one, which would it be? I've heard many say they would grab the baby since mom has been around a long time. I couldn't say.  I'm not in that situation right now.  There's no way to know what to do until tragedy hits.  Some can handle atrocities, whereas; other have no clue how to maneuver suffering nor know why hardship occurs.  Stop trying to figure out why hardships happens--only the Father knows.  He won't  have you guessing long.      The underlining reason at the end of your trials gives away the mystery. Experiencing hardship isn't fun but you will come out with more insight than ever before....

The Rain

There is something about rain. It is soothing. Therapists play relaxing sounds of rain during sessions. It calms the mind.  On my way to church,  a drizzle of rain hit my windshield.   The sky was dark and gloomy.  I noticed above the clouds the sun shining regardless of its surroundings.   Troubles in your life mimics the dark clouds and the sun represents the Son of God shining in your life (2 Samuel 23:4).   The Old Testament speaks of rain in the aspect that God gives and withholds rain, which is a sign of God’s favor or disfavor: Joel 2:23; Job 29:23; Jerm 3:3. Who tips the water-jars of Heaven (Job 38:37)?   Who gives the rain in it season (Jeremiah 5:24)? Who sends an abundance of rain when needed (Psalm 68:9)?   It’s not just the presence and absence of rain that’s important but the timing. God provides what you need at the right time: Rain teaches us: ·        Wait for the Father to fight your...

Get Ready

W hen the Children of God came to the Red Sea, no doubt their motivation levels were very low. They had Pharaoh and his army behind them, mountains on the sides of them and the Red Sea ahead of them.  There seemed to be no way out of this saga.  A movie where the villain has the good person cornered.  You wonder how they were going to get out of it. God's people waited 450 years to be released from Egypt and right at their blessing (crossing the Red Sea), the God's Children cries out to Moses, "Because there were no graves in Egypt, has thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore has thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than we should die in the wilderness."  Moses answers the people by saying, "Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation ...
