SCRAPBOOK MEMORIES

Remembering When

Abraham said, “Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented.”  Luke 16:25

Sitting and chatting with old friends one Saturday, we began the "remember when" game.  The game became uncomfortable when my life was the subject of conversation. Quite naturally before I became a Christian, I indulged in ungodly activities.  Five minutes into the "remember when" storytelling, I stopped them saying, "I may not be where I want to be, but, thank God I'm not what I used to be."  With all eyes centered on me, the conversation slowly shifted from my loose living to wanting to know more about Jesus and understanding forgiveness.  I expounded on the Heavenly Trinity and  Jesus' death on the cross.  The room was so quiet you could hear a rat walk on cotton.

Take a few moments to look over your life.  Some activities are best left with Jesus. To do that you must forget the past; press forward to the goal of the Heavenly prize (Philippians 3:14).  Start today.  Don’t listen to Satan whisper there's no hope for you. He lies and is the father of all lies (John 8:44).  You are better than his false notions.  There's no weapon formed against you that shall prosper against you when you reach for righteousness  (Isaiah 54:17). Walk with your head high and holding God's hand. The victory that overcomes the world is your faith (1 John 5:4).

Nothing adds fuel to the flames of hell than hearing, "Son remember in your lifetime.”  It's too late for the rich man in the book of Luke; not you.

I challenge you: Whatever sins you have committed, repent this moment. If you don't repent of your sins and you die tonight, then, you'll hear those words...

…"Remember when..."

Understanding It Better By and By

Funny how life has a way of showing you what you’re made of.  When adversity hits, what you say you wouldn't do becomes easier to do.  When the rubber meets the road, yes! you do the unthinkable.  Let's say you have a house fire and on the second floor is your baby and mom. You can only save one, which would it be? I've heard many say they would grab the baby since mom has been around a long time. I couldn't say.  I'm not in that situation right now.  There's no way to know what to do until tragedy hits.  Some can handle atrocities, whereas; other have no clue how to maneuver suffering nor know why hardship occurs.  Stop trying to figure out why hardships happens--only the Father knows.  He won't  have you guessing long.      The underlining reason at the end of your trials gives away the mystery. Experiencing hardship isn't fun but you will come out with more insight than ever before....

Freedom

Freedom Fighter For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures” --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (Meanwhile in Heaven) “Now let’s see what they will do.” “Does anyone know what just happened?”   “I don’t think so Father; look at them scurrying around like ants. They are oblivious to my death.”   “Give it time, Give it time.” “How much more time?”  “Look! There’s one praying. She talks to me all the time. Her heart is so tender and loving like us.”   “Listen.”

Get Ready

W hen the Children of God came to the Red Sea, no doubt their motivation levels were very low. They had Pharaoh and his army behind them, mountains on the sides of them and the Red Sea ahead of them.  There seemed to be no way out of this saga.  A movie where the villain has the good person cornered.  You wonder how they were going to get out of it. God's people waited 450 years to be released from Egypt and right at their blessing (crossing the Red Sea), the God's Children cries out to Moses, "Because there were no graves in Egypt, has thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore has thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than we should die in the wilderness."  Moses answers the people by saying, "Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation ...
