I'm Hanging In There

At the Publix with groceries on the counter, I asked the teller how was her day. She said, “I’m hanging in there.”

She isn’t the only person that has given me that answer.  If you’re making that statement, remember you are doing better than just “hanging in there.” You’re a conqueror in Christ.   You’re not defeated.  Jesus didn’t die on the cross for you to “just be making it.” He died for you to be victorious!  You’re successful in whatever situation you find yourself.  God’s grace is sufficient (1 Corinthians 12:9). The scripture says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world” (1 John 5:4). If you are a Child of the Most High King, you’re an overcomer. Jesus gave his life for you to live a successful life—not to just hang in there. Making that statement you’re saying you Jesus isn’t in your life. You’re also saying God isn’t doing anything for you? What if the Creator took a day off, where would you truly be?

Perhaps you say “hanging in there” to not complain or not share your troubles?  I remember someone asking me how I was doing. To see if the person cared enough to listen, I responded by saying, constipated, and not feeling myself.” To which the person kept walking saying “that’s good.”  I immediately stop the person and asked, “it’s okay that I’m constipated?” He laughed and told me “I guess you noticed I wasn’t listening.”   That happens a lot. Therefore, when you ask others how they are doing, take the time to listen to what they have to say or don’t ask at all.  Be different. Show the love of Christ. Be Christlike.   Jesus took time out to give sight to a blind man (Mark 8-22-24), heal a woman with an issue of blood (Matthews 9:20-22), fed 5,000 (Matthew 14:14-20), rescued an adulterous woman from the mob (John 8:3-7).  Be the person you want others to be to you. No more “hanging in there.”  Tell them how the Father blessed you. Care enough to listen. Care enough to share.  Be Blessed.

Understanding It Better By and By

Funny how life has a way of showing you what you’re made of.  When adversity hits, what you say you wouldn't do becomes easier to do.  When the rubber meets the road, yes! you do the unthinkable.  Let's say you have a house fire and on the second floor is your baby and mom. You can only save one, which would it be? I've heard many say they would grab the baby since mom has been around a long time. I couldn't say.  I'm not in that situation right now.  There's no way to know what to do until tragedy hits.  Some can handle atrocities, whereas; other have no clue how to maneuver suffering nor know why hardship occurs.  Stop trying to figure out why hardships happens--only the Father knows.  He won't  have you guessing long.      The underlining reason at the end of your trials gives away the mystery. Experiencing hardship isn't fun but you will come out with more insight than ever before....

Trust God

Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight ( NIV ). “Police, Police, a young man stole my bike.”   Minutes earlier the gentleman stops at the local store. Thirsty from the summer heat, he decides to get a drink.   Dismounting his bike, a kind young man greets him with a smile and offers to watch the bike. Grateful for the offer, the gentleman hands over the bike.   He enters the store. On returning, the bike and young man had vanished. The gentleman had a good heart, but he had misplaced trust.   Trust in the Lord is paramount (Hebrews 11:6). Life cannot be maneuver through our wisdom, we need the wisdom of the Savior.   He alone can handle our life cycle issues.   A fulfill and successful life with Jesus comes through obedience and surrender. The Lord then guides us into an everlasting peace despite difficulties and h...

Sabotage

It’s those times when you do the wrong thing for the right reason you get caught. Those moments catch you off guard. It almost happened to me. While going out the door, a thought came to me to take my gun. I figured after the boys’ baseball game, I would go to the gun range.   Here’s the deal, the baseball game was on base. The base has a strict rule about bring artillery on its grounds.   To ensure everyone adheres to the rule, security police checks cars as a preventive measures. Thus far, my car hasn’t been checked—yet. Satan whispered in my ear to take my gun with me. Security police won’t pull me over. Besides, it would take me 45 minutes to go back home to pick it up after the game. If I bring it, I can save gas and time. Now, just because that sound good in my head doesn’t mean the scene would play out that way. I felt like I was being setup. Someone else in the Bible was setup like this: Judas. What made him think betraying the Son of God was a good thing? It mu...
