At the Publix with groceries on the counter, I asked the
teller how was her day. She said, “I’m hanging in there.”
She isn’t the only person that has given me that answer. If you’re making that statement, remember you
are doing better than just “hanging in there.” You’re a conqueror in
Christ. You’re not defeated. Jesus didn’t die on the cross for you to “just
be making it.” He died for you to be victorious! You’re successful in whatever situation you
find yourself. God’s grace is sufficient
(1 Corinthians 12:9). The scripture says, “For whatsoever is born of God
overcometh the world” (1 John 5:4). If you are a Child of the Most High King,
you’re an overcomer. Jesus gave his life for you to live a successful life—not to
just hang in there. Making that statement you’re saying you Jesus isn’t in your
life. You’re also saying God isn’t doing anything for you? What if the Creator
took a day off, where would you truly be?
Perhaps you say “hanging in there”
to not complain or not share your troubles? I remember someone asking me how I was doing. To
see if the person cared enough to listen, I responded by saying, constipated,
and not feeling myself.” To which the person kept walking saying “that’s good.” I immediately stop the person and asked, “it’s
okay that I’m constipated?” He laughed and told me “I guess you noticed I wasn’t
listening.” That happens a lot. Therefore, when you ask
others how they are doing, take the time to listen to what they have to say or
don’t ask at all. Be different. Show the
love of Christ. Be Christlike. Jesus took time out to give sight to a blind
man (Mark 8-22-24), heal a woman with an issue of blood (Matthews 9:20-22), fed
5,000 (Matthew 14:14-20), rescued an adulterous woman from the mob (John
8:3-7). Be the person you want others to
be to you. No more “hanging in there.” Tell
them how the Father blessed you. Care enough to listen. Care enough to share. Be Blessed.
