When You Think You Can't Take It Anymore

Several hardships at one time pushes you to your limit. If it’s one thing, you could handle it. But several at one time!  You start your day with car trouble and as the day progresses there's child issues, spouse issues, job issues, money issue, when will it stop?  It's gang-up-on you day. You try to handle one at a time but then they snowball into one big heap of a mess. It's more than you can handle. When I get to that point, I get in my car, roll up my windows and scream at the top of my lungs, while driving down the highway. I look like some mad woman racing down the road yelling. Well, that’s how I relieve the pressure from my troubles.   Yep, I scream until I can't scream anymore. I get out all of my anxiety. No longer am I overwhelmed.  I feel bad afterwards. I realize what I didn't do. I didn't take that problem to God.  He’s there waiting for me to ask for help.  What do I do? I tried to handle it alone. Guess what? Problem still there.

I should have gone to God first. It would have saved gas and anxiety.  He knows us better than we know ourselves.  He's the one that gives strength. He is the power source. Plug into His Word and you'll see how so many others made it through. Just to name a few: Saul tried to kill David (1 Sam 19:1-22); Satan tried to take Job out (Job 1: 1-22 & Job 2); Paul had multiple problems from hunger, to people trying to kill him, beaten (2 Cor 11:25-30). These were men of God. Now if you think because you are a Child of God that you won't have problems, think again. Bad things happen to good people. Glory in the fact, you're not alone.  With God, that bad ordeal became an experience. Romans says experience is where you find hope (Rom 5:4-5).  Hope is where you find Jesus (1 Tim 1:1).  Therefore, when you think you can't take it anymore, look to Heaven. You can handle more than you think you can.  Your experiences are making you wiser. Hang in here.

I Got You!

Do you remember going to the arcades? You and your friends’ old rendezvous spot, battling for the top spot in one of the popular games. While you guys horsed around, a group of troublemakers bullied their way onto the machines? Your posy band together vowing to have each other’s back.  Now days, every man for himself. Someone will call 911 for you, any more than that would be heroic (Romans 5:7).  No one takes on any man’s cause anymore. The back-in-the-day phrase was "I got your back."

Understanding It Better By and By

Funny how life has a way of showing you what you’re made of.  When adversity hits, what you say you wouldn't do becomes easier to do.  When the rubber meets the road, yes! you do the unthinkable.  Let's say you have a house fire and on the second floor is your baby and mom. You can only save one, which would it be? I've heard many say they would grab the baby since mom has been around a long time. I couldn't say.  I'm not in that situation right now.  There's no way to know what to do until tragedy hits.  Some can handle atrocities, whereas; other have no clue how to maneuver suffering nor know why hardship occurs.  Stop trying to figure out why hardships happens--only the Father knows.  He won't  have you guessing long.      The underlining reason at the end of your trials gives away the mystery. Experiencing hardship isn't fun but you will come out with more insight than ever before....

I Didn't See That Coming

Arriving at work, I put my lunch bag in the refrigerator, fired up the computer and  entered my logged on.  The phone rang.  "This is Ms. Swanson," I told the caller.  "Yes, right away."  I hung up the phone, reached for my keys and raced downstairs asking God to provide what I need from the spiritual realm. I wasn’t sure what I would run up against. A policeman was at my car writing a ticket. One of the sergeants’ saw my handicap placard on the seat and called me to come down quickly. While racing to the car, I noticed my IPhone watch on my arm. I wasn't allowed to wear it at work, especially with security violation written all over the action. I forgot to take it off! Supposed someone saw it, I could lose my job. Right at that moment I remembered to get my retainer from my purse when I put it in the truck. It could melt in the heat, costing a replacement cost of $300. All I can say is, "I didn't see that...
