The Battle

Remember the younger, wilder you?  Hanging out at the clubs, house parties, joyriding, drinking and the sorts, with one thing in mind, having fun and hanging out with the gang. The sensible side of you saw the dangers ahead, yet, you leaned towards your naughty side.  That side that felt good.  And, because it felt good and right, many suffered from curable diseases while others attended to a lifetime of child rearing.  Doing what felt good was far more fun than doing what was right.  You’ve been in a battle between good and evil for a long time, you just didn’t know you were in a battle.  The battle is real!  When you yell at others on the road, it’s a battle not to do it when the other person deserves it.  However, an error of caution could save you an eternity of pain. How you treat others  and how you live your life will revisit you in eternity. "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, reveling and such like of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such thing shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (Galatian 5;19-21).  Keep that in mind. The battle continues. As matter of fact, life is a constant battle. You try to do your best, and mind your own business; however, Satan is watching though his binoculars, waiting for his opportunity to trip you up.  He is looking for an opening to crush you through all those things named in Galatians 5:19-21. No matter his many tries, God provides a way of escape for you (1 Corinthians 10:13).  Look for the opening He’s gives you and get out of there! You’re older and wiser than the younger version of yourself. You know how to avoid the battle, right?  You may hit a bump in the road; nevertheless, continue to press the gas of life and drive right over it. Keep praying and doing what’s right. When you fall, repent and get up.  Know that all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord (Romans 8:28) Do you believe that?

I Got You!

Do you remember going to the arcades? You and your friends’ old rendezvous spot, battling for the top spot in one of the popular games. While you guys horsed around, a group of troublemakers bullied their way onto the machines? Your posy band together vowing to have each other’s back.  Now days, every man for himself. Someone will call 911 for you, any more than that would be heroic (Romans 5:7).  No one takes on any man’s cause anymore. The back-in-the-day phrase was "I got your back."

Understanding It Better By and By

Funny how life has a way of showing you what you’re made of.  When adversity hits, what you say you wouldn't do becomes easier to do.  When the rubber meets the road, yes! you do the unthinkable.  Let's say you have a house fire and on the second floor is your baby and mom. You can only save one, which would it be? I've heard many say they would grab the baby since mom has been around a long time. I couldn't say.  I'm not in that situation right now.  There's no way to know what to do until tragedy hits.  Some can handle atrocities, whereas; other have no clue how to maneuver suffering nor know why hardship occurs.  Stop trying to figure out why hardships happens--only the Father knows.  He won't  have you guessing long.      The underlining reason at the end of your trials gives away the mystery. Experiencing hardship isn't fun but you will come out with more insight than ever before....

I Didn't See That Coming

Arriving at work, I put my lunch bag in the refrigerator, fired up the computer and  entered my logged on.  The phone rang.  "This is Ms. Swanson," I told the caller.  "Yes, right away."  I hung up the phone, reached for my keys and raced downstairs asking God to provide what I need from the spiritual realm. I wasn’t sure what I would run up against. A policeman was at my car writing a ticket. One of the sergeants’ saw my handicap placard on the seat and called me to come down quickly. While racing to the car, I noticed my IPhone watch on my arm. I wasn't allowed to wear it at work, especially with security violation written all over the action. I forgot to take it off! Supposed someone saw it, I could lose my job. Right at that moment I remembered to get my retainer from my purse when I put it in the truck. It could melt in the heat, costing a replacement cost of $300. All I can say is, "I didn't see that...
