Hope

Hope is a beautiful thing. It keeps you moving forward. It motivates you to take one more step. Without hope, life stops.  Everyday you walk among others at  school or work. You nod and smile; even say good morning not knowing that someone you just spoke to has lost hope. You can restore that hope back into the world by first filling yourself with hope from God's Word then passing it on. Remember those "pass it on" cards in the Christians Bookstores? I love those cards.  I was struggling with making a payment due to my own negligence. I allowed myself to get trapped into credit card debt. The more I tried to get myself out, the more discouraged I got. It got to the point that my hope start fizzling out.  There was this girl, who must have been watching me at work, walked by and handed me a "Pass It on" card.  The card read "Faith in God Includes Faith In His Timing."  She didn't say a word and kept walking. I looked at the card, then I was looking at the back of her as she smiled and said hi to others.  That was my little angel.  This must have been how Job felt in Job 13:15 when he said, though He slay me, I will trust Him.  Satan did a number on Job but Job held onto hope.  This is a man who lost his family, his wealth, and his health.  Yet, his love for God kept him hanging on. So guess what! If Job can do it so can I. Today is Hope Day. If your hope is fizzling out too, join me renewing our hope in the Lord. He has the power to fix it, not us.

    Those who wait on the LORD
    Shall renew their strength;
    They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
    They shall run and not be weary,
    They shall walk and not faint.

The New King James Version. (1982). (Is 40:31). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.

Understanding It Better By and By

    Funny how life has a way of showing you what you’re made of.  When adversity hits, what you say you wouldn't do becomes easier to do.  When the rubber meets the road, yes! you do the unthinkable.  Let's say you have a house fire and on the second floor is your baby and mom. You can only save one, which would it be? I've heard many say they would grab the baby since mom has been around a long time. I couldn't say.  I'm not in that situation right now.  There's no way to know what to do until tragedy hits.  Some can handle atrocities, whereas; other have no clue how to maneuver suffering nor know why hardship occurs.  Stop trying to figure out why hardships happens--only the Father knows.  He won't  have you guessing long.      The underlining reason at the end of your trials gives away the mystery. Experiencing hardship isn't fun but you will come out with more insight than ever before....

God's Timeout!

Even in the mist of your trials, God provides prosperity and peace.  In Jeremiah 29, God told His people that after captivity, after their time-out, He would restore them to Jerusalem.  The people’s response was to simply to listen and obey.  Such a simple task, yet, not easily done. Are you a doer of God’s word? Does others see God in your actions? Do you see yourself, your actions, and your thoughts when you read God’s word?   James talks about looking into God’s mirror and walking away forgetting what you look like (James 1:23-24).  Trials are not for you to point the finger at others or to use as a pawn to make idle promises to do better.    Trials designed to bring you closer to God, to embrace His love, mercy, and grace.  Remember raising your children (if you had any) and after you scold them, they ran to you with tears in their eyes and hug you tightly, a silent plea for forgiveness.  When Go...

Heaven's Hotline!

Heaven’s hotline is available day or night.  Never worry about the line going dead, disconnected or even fear an operator saying, “Please hold.” God answers all His calls. How do you get connected? I’m glad you asked. You received your telephone number the day of your new birth. The cost of installation was Jesus’ blood on the Cross. Your name was entered on God's speed dial. There you have it, no number to memorize and no dial tone to achieve; the call connects instantly when you say the code words “o ur Father .”            You don’t have to worry that someone is listening or be concerned with how to phrase your sentences. The receiver knew you before you were formed. ( Jeremiah 1:5 ). In fact, you do not have to explain your reason for calling. God wants you to talk to him.         Did you know that an angel stands before God day and night offering up your prayers as incenses b...
