Those That Wait On The Lord

My favorite verse in the Bible is Isaiah 40:31, “they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint”.  What are you waiting on? Are you in a situation that is wearing you down right now? No end in sight?  One thing we can agree on is that Satan is doing his job--WELL!  Waiting is the last thing you wanted to do right now. What you want is to get away from your problems and be left alone.

When the children of Israel were taken by the Babylonians to another country, depression and homesickness settled into their psyches.  They get there and their captors tells them when the music play, to bow down to their god. If they didn't, they will be thrown in the fire. You know the story.  The three Hebrew boys Shadrach, Meshack and Abed-nego showed unwavering faith. Despite what the King declared, they did not worship the King’s god.  They were throw into the fire.  The wait outside the area of the fire had to be torcher.  Okay torch-er wasn't a good word but you get the jist.  So much had to go through their minds.  However, God didn't let them down.   When the three Hebrew boys entered the fire, they found Peace waiting there. They had a chat with the Savior and walked out unharmed.  You may not be facing this type of persecution but whatever you are facing right now, know God is in control. Every evil scheme goes through God before it hits you.  You may question where is God in all of this; He is working on your behalf and controlling the situation but allows Satan to carry out his evil against you.  In other words, your circumstance may not change but you will change in your circumstance.  While you’re in your storm, have a chat with the Savior. Allow Him to give you what's best for you.  He is able to prepare a table for you before your enemies.  Now that’s what I’m talking about! Isn't the wait worth it? I wait because good stuff is coming.

Understanding It Better By and By

Funny how life has a way of showing you what you’re made of.  When adversity hits, what you say you wouldn't do becomes easier to do.  When the rubber meets the road, yes! you do the unthinkable.  Let's say you have a house fire and on the second floor is your baby and mom. You can only save one, which would it be? I've heard many say they would grab the baby since mom has been around a long time. I couldn't say.  I'm not in that situation right now.  There's no way to know what to do until tragedy hits.  Some can handle atrocities, whereas; other have no clue how to maneuver suffering nor know why hardship occurs.  Stop trying to figure out why hardships happens--only the Father knows.  He won't  have you guessing long.      The underlining reason at the end of your trials gives away the mystery. Experiencing hardship isn't fun but you will come out with more insight than ever before....

Trust God

Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight ( NIV ). “Police, Police, a young man stole my bike.”   Minutes earlier the gentleman stops at the local store. Thirsty from the summer heat, he decides to get a drink.   Dismounting his bike, a kind young man greets him with a smile and offers to watch the bike. Grateful for the offer, the gentleman hands over the bike.   He enters the store. On returning, the bike and young man had vanished. The gentleman had a good heart, but he had misplaced trust.   Trust in the Lord is paramount (Hebrews 11:6). Life cannot be maneuver through our wisdom, we need the wisdom of the Savior.   He alone can handle our life cycle issues.   A fulfill and successful life with Jesus comes through obedience and surrender. The Lord then guides us into an everlasting peace despite difficulties and h...

Sabotage

It’s those times when you do the wrong thing for the right reason you get caught. Those moments catch you off guard. It almost happened to me. While going out the door, a thought came to me to take my gun. I figured after the boys’ baseball game, I would go to the gun range.   Here’s the deal, the baseball game was on base. The base has a strict rule about bring artillery on its grounds.   To ensure everyone adheres to the rule, security police checks cars as a preventive measures. Thus far, my car hasn’t been checked—yet. Satan whispered in my ear to take my gun with me. Security police won’t pull me over. Besides, it would take me 45 minutes to go back home to pick it up after the game. If I bring it, I can save gas and time. Now, just because that sound good in my head doesn’t mean the scene would play out that way. I felt like I was being setup. Someone else in the Bible was setup like this: Judas. What made him think betraying the Son of God was a good thing? It mu...
