Believer

You're not crazy! God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are real!  David, believed in God. When Goliath made fun of God's people, David stood for God: "The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” His brothers and others laughed at him.  David got five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he walked up to the Philistine in the name of the LORD of hosts and  Knocked him out! That's faith David displayed that God had his back.   What you read in the Word of God, Stand on that! Believe what God says. Don't back down! Believe! Angels are out there watching over us. Some don’t believe this.   A friend of mine was in  a bad car accident. God saved her life. She walked away with no broken bones, nor a hospital stay.  She was sad over her totaled car, but alive.   I was in several acciden

Get Ready

W hen the Children of God came to the Red Sea, no doubt their motivation levels were very low. They had Pharaoh and his army behind them, mountains on the sides of them and the Red Sea ahead of them.  There seemed to be no way out of this saga.  A movie where the villain has the good person cornered.  You wonder how they were going to get out of it. God's people waited 450 years to be released from Egypt and right at their blessing (crossing the Red Sea), the God's Children cries out to Moses, "Because there were no graves in Egypt, has thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore has thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than we should die in the wilderness."  Moses answers the people by saying, "Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord

The Advocate

Who  is your favorite courtroom lawyer? I can think of several television lawyers. My favorite is Perry Mason. I own the Perry Mason collection written by Stanley Early Gardener. I love unsolved law cases and how the murderer is revealed in an unorthodox way during the courtroom rumble.  Mason would use his courtroom wit to point out  criminal evidence . It’s never the person everyone thought did the crime.  Perry Mason was an awesome factious lawyer. It got me thinking about our spiritual lawyer.  The Greek writer used the term ParaklÄ“tos in the Gospel of John to refer to the Holy Spirit as our advocate or lawyer. He's not talked about much like God the Father and the Son. Yet, He has an important role in our lives.  He pleads your case before God, He guides you through this life with hints on how to maneuver around the evil one and He present truth in your situation (John 14:16–17; 14:26; 15:26). He knows you.  You don’t want to stand before God without good repre

Faith's Transition

If I had to call a witness to the stand regarding "faith transition", I would call Nebuchadnezzar to the stand. He was a no way, no how, king.  It started when he thought he was above God, asking His kingdom to bow down to his gods when the music played.  Three Hebrew boys captured into captivity refused to bow down.  This angered  King Nebuchadnezzar who ask them, " Who is that God that shall deliver you from my hands?" (Dan 4:15). You know the story. The boys were thrown into the fire. But something amazing happened to the king. He changed during the course of the event. When he saw the boys walking around in the fire and talking to a fourth person, his mind reeled saying, “didn't we throw in three? There's four in there!” When the boys walked out of the fire unharmed, the king's transformation begun.  " Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued hi
